Fagor ROR-260C Fiber Optic Receiver 1 F-Female Input 1 SC/APC Output
Fagor RF over Fiber Optic Receiver ROR-260C
An RF over optical fiber receiver converts the optical signal into radio frequency (RF) signal when received from the transmitter, mainly used in telecommunications, satellite TV transmission, broadband networks and other systems where transmission of RF signals over long distances without loss of quality is required.
A frequent use of these devices (RF transmitter and receiver over optical fiber) is in residential blocks, where there are long distances between several buildings and we want to mount a single headend. In this case we will mount the headend in one of the buildings according to ICT regulations, obtaining two downcomers that will transport the DTT+FI1 and DTT+FI2 on the other side. At the output of these, we will put the transmitter, which will convert the signal to fiber, thus being able to carry our signal much further than with a coaxial cable (which has many more losses). The transmitted signal will be distributed to different blocks with a splitter to a RF receiver, which will do the opposite to the transmitter, convert the signal from fiber optic to RF, to be able to mount a new distribution of the following buildings.
This Fagor receiver, which belongs to the Comapct series, is used for SMATV networks over FTTH and is suitable for RF signal distribution over fiber optic networks.
It has an RF input and an optical output with SC/APC connector and is valid for frequencies 1310 and 1550nm. The electrical signal is converted into optical signals. It incorporates high performance optical AGC (automatic gain control).
It is designed to detect very weak light signals, allowing data transmission over long distances without the need for additional repeaters.
The ROR-260C offers excellent linearity and flatness, as well as ultra-low noise. It has two LEDs: a red one indicating receiver power and a green/red one indicating optimum power. For its power supply we need a power supply of up to 12V.
It has a small size and is very easy to install. Its housing is made of aluminum alloy.
