MIFARE proximity key
Proximity keychain with MIFARE technology
The MIFARE proximity key fobs have a microchip built-in that, when it is brought closer to the reader, it emits a radio frequency signal that activates it. When the microship is activated, it returns an identification code to the system. In order for the system to allow you access, it requires a simple programming to adding that key to the memory.
These keys do not need to be powered, so they do not require a battery. These key fobs do not come configured. An engraving tool is essential to set an initial code so that it can work with the readers. If they are not programmed, they do not work.
The MIFARE key communicates with the reader at a frequency of 13.56 MHz.
